LV SPECIAL : What a difference 12 months make , Is Kiss the next Wiz?

Well as for me, I didn’t like Kiss Daniel when he first came into spotlight with his popular song, WOJU back then. I had no reason for that, just didn’t like his style.

But the thing is, that was back then. I don’t know how or when I started getting to like his songs, just can’t explain that. Perhaps, may be because he is too good to be hated right now.

He might get a bad rap for not being sure what his real age was; doesn’t know exactly when he was born or be accused of being a little cocky but there’s no denying that Kiss does know how to make good music.

Looking at how he started his career, how he keeps improving as he drops hit Gbedus back to back for us to groove, we can’t argue but accept the fact that KISS is a DANIEL

Although comparing him with WIZKID may be way too much or can be seen as a magnification, however he is not so far from how ‘Holla at your boy” crooner also started by shaking the Industry and the whole of Africa with his debut album – SUPERSTAR. Wizkid rose to the top in a blink whereas Kiss is still rising.
Don’t let me distract you from the main topic ojere.

Kiss was the biggest winner of the night at The Headies 2016 as he carted away three plaques in the Hip Hop World Revelation, Best R&B/Pop Album and Album of the Year categories. Hitting the nail on its head, his career has enjoyed unprecedented growth.

After his official debut in 2014, WOJU catapulted him into the spotlight and NEW ERA Album tells the World that ehm ehm, OLUWA is undoubtedly involved.

With the hit Gbedus like “Mama”, “Jumbo, “Sin City” and this my favourite track (let me hint you *winks) “Die die nii o, were were nii… ” (I know you love that track too) featured in his debut album; NEW ERA, it was enough to allow him go on a world tour as he’s already been placed heads and shoulders above his peers this year.

Kiss, who lost 2015 Headies nomination of “Next rated” to Reekado Banks won three plaques last December. What a difference 12 months make!
