J. Cole has been getting lots of attention over the lyrical content of the new songs from his recently released Eyez documentary, and now MMG rapper Wale weighs in with a Jake One-produced track called “Groundhog Day.”
Many people feel that Jermaine targeted Wale with lyrics from his upcoming 4 Your Eyez Only cut “False Prophets,” including Wale himself who responds on “Groundhog Day” by rapping:
“The most highly underrated of my / Behind them Crooked Smiles, ni**as neglect to embrace me / Respect is in order now, my liquor is more than y’all / You throwing them lil shots, we catching some cases” and “I remember me and Cole would open for Hov / Everyday A Star Is Born, I guess I died in the womb.”
